Initial Teacher Training Providers (ITTP)
The following initial teacher training providers in the South West have come together to form PATH Into Teaching.
This initiative aims to address the issue of the shortage of BME people in the teaching profession.
Each provider has a unique service to offer and is committed to equality of opportunity.

Our courses
Here at UWE we offer a wide range of courses which cover all aspects of education including:
Foundation degrees in Education Support, Early Years, Inclusive Practice.
Primary and Early Years teaching through a three year undergraduate BA(Hons) or a one year postgraduate PGCE.
 Secondary teaching through a one year postgraduate PGCE in a variety of subjects.
FE teaching through a one year postgraduate Post-Compulsory Education and Training (PCET) PGCE, or two year part-time programme at   undergraduate or postgraduate level, for those already working in FE or Learning and Skills Sector. and

Swindon SCITT(School Centred Initial teacher training) is a partnership between Swindon secondary schools, Swindon Local Authority (LA) and the University of Bath to provide high quality initial teacher training leading to the award of Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and Professional Graduate Certificate in Education or a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE).

As its name suggests Swindon SCITT is based in Swindon secondary schools for a large proportion of the course. It is delivered by Professional Tutors and Subject Mentors in the schools. To support your development of teaching skills and subject expertise there is an academic programme of lectures, seminars and group activities will now be based at St Joseph's Catholic College, Ocotal Way, Swindon. Here you will have access to a unique blend of practising teachers, LA specialists and University of Bath consultants.
